Buses from Krakow to Budapest: Journey Details

Krakow and Budapest are located around 300 km apart, with Slovakia separating them. Though direct buses from Krakow to Budapest are minimal, OrangeWays operates one daily service (including at weekends), which leaves Krakow Glówny bus terminal just after midday and arrives in Budapest Népliget station in the late evening. There are several non-direct services, which mostly involve a change of bus in Bratislava, elsewhere in Slovakia or Vienna.

Taking the Bus from Krakow

Krakow's main bus terminal is integrated into the newly redeveloped, underground Krakow Glówny transportation centre, just to the east of the railway station in the city centre. Getting to the station is easy, and Krakow has a well-developed public transport system of buses and tram lines, that are simple to navigate. Taxis are a good and inexpensive option, especially for those with lots of luggage. There are eight night bus lines in Krakow, all of which pass through the Glówny railway station.

Getting into Budapest by Bus

The capital city of Hungary, Budapest has gained a name for itself amongst Europeans as the "Paris of the former Eastern bloc". The city's laid-back feel has been attracting visitors from across the continent and beyond, for those who wish to relax in the numerous geothermal spas, spend time in the many bars and coffee shops, party away in the burgeoning night-life or take in the cultural splendour of the palaces and museums.

Buses from Krakow to Budapest arrive at Népliget Bus Station. The M3 metro line (the blue one) is the easiest way of continuing your journey. Taxis in Budapest are pretty cheap, and the Népliget is well served by buses, also at night.
