Trains from Prague to Vienna are operated by Czech and Austrian Railways using the service known as Railjet. There are up to eight trains available every day, which cover the 185 miles that separate both cities in approximately 4 hours. Railjet trains are always direct and begin running daily at 6:50 a.m., followed by departures every two hours and ending with a train that departs before midnight.
Departure Station: Trains from Prague to Vienna depart from Prague Hlavani, the city's central train station. From here, visitors can reach the Old Town on foot in 15-20 minutes, or take the city's underground, which has a station opposite Hlavani. Reaching the main attractions on the western side of the river requires an underground as well as a bus or tram.
Arrival Station: Trains from Prague to Vienna arrive at Wien Hauptbahnhof, which is half a mile away from the historic Belvedere Quarter, and approximately 30 minutes away from the city core area if using public transportation. Wien Hauptbahnhof also functions as an underground station and is handy for visitors headed to Stadtpark, Stephansplatz, and the university.
