They aim to significantly reduce travel times and increase the frequency of services between the two countries."

In the United States, Sprinter is a hybrid rail service in San Diego County, California, connecting Oceanside and Escondido. Operated by the North County Transit District, this 22-mile line serves 15 stations and is primarily aimed at students and commuters. The service uses Siemens Desiro-class diesel multiple units, which are also common in Europe.
