There are regular direct trains from Basel to Zurich every day, with a journey time of just under 1 hour. The service is provided by SBB, owned by Switzerland, Germany and Italy. The first departure is at around 5:30 a.m., with departures then every hour or two hours, until just after 11:00 p.m.

Taking the Train from Basel

Trains from Basel to Zurich depart from Basel SBB Station, just South of the city centre. The station is on the tram and bus routes, which provide an efficient network of transport around the small city of Basel. Ferry boats also operate across the Rhine. Taxis are available at Basel Station.
