Renfe provide the primary rail link between the two cities, whereas Alsa lead the way for any traveller wishing to journey by bus. Flights down into Valencia are also possible, although more often than not this requires a change. Connections vary depending on the choice of airline, although Madrid is a popular layover point.

Travelling from Barcelona to Valencia
Trains
Trains depart on a daily basis from Barcelona, with a direct line supplied by Renfe that goes straight into the city of Valencia. Travel time can take anywhere between three and five hours. Rail services that travel to Valencia Joaquin Sorolla are usually quickest. Anyone wishing to travel on the line to Valencia-Stacio Del Nord can still go direct but will be forced to contend with additional travel time (one/two hours extra).
Buses
Alsa are the transport company who supply the main bus route from Barcelona and offer a direct service into Valencia at least five times a day. Services are spread across the day, allowing passengers to board in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on their preferences. All services are direct and take anywhere between four and five hours. An overnight service is often available, leaving at 1:00 a.m. and arriving in Valencia at 7:00 a.m.
Flights
Iberia and Vueling provide relatively cheap flights into Valencia, although every service requires a connection at either Madrid or Mallorca. Overall travel time is five hours minimum and can exceed fifteen hours in some cases.
