You can get from Leicester to Nottingham by East Midlands trains any day of the week. There's roughly one departure each hour, with a slightly higher frequency during the late afternoon. Trains depart from Leicester railway station, and you then have a choice of arrival points. You can either finish your trip at Station Street, also known as Nottingham City, or switch trains and carry on to Carlton railway station in the suburbs, three miles east of central Nottingham.
