SJ X2000 Trains

What is the X2000?

Every year around 6 million people travel with x2000. The train model was introduced in 1990 and offer a high level of comfort. With fewer stops along the way, it also offers shorter travel times compared to other trains. The fastest speed at which the trains can travel is 200 km/h (124 mph). This makes X2000 the fastest SJ train.

What routes does the X2000 operate?

X2000 train operates some of the most popular routes in Sweden: Stockholm-Gothenburg-Stockholm, Stockholm-Malmö/Copenhagen, Gothenburg-Malmö/Copenhagen and Copenhagen/Malmö-Gothenburg. In some cases, it may also happen that X2000 operates other routes in Sweden. During the summer season, for example, you can choose to travel by X2000 if you are going between Stockholm and Strömstad.

What facilities are available on X2000 trains?

The X2000 offers Wifi on all trains. In addition, there are electrical outlets at each seat. A bistro and 1^ class restaurant are also offered on longer distance routes. The X2000 train also has a wheelchair lift. All X2000 trains have been rebuilt and modernized in 2018. The new train models include a new bistro and more seating capacity.

SJ X3000 Trains

What is the X3000?

The X3000 is SJ's successors of the classic, but sometimes problematic X2000 train. The train, manufactured by Bombardier, was introduced on the Swedish market in 2012. On the X3000 there is an improved protection from snow and ice, compared to the X2000, thus increasing operational safety during winter time. The X3000 can run at 250 km/h (155 mph), but SJ does not run faster than 200 km/h (124 mph) for various reasons. However, they benefit from the high acceleration capacity of the train.

What facilities are available on X3000 trains?

The X3000 has a silent coach, where it is not allowed to talk on mobile or be generally loud. There is also a sector dedicated to pets, in order to avoid disturbing passengers that suffer from allergies. Each X3000 also has a wheelchair lift, as well as special places for the disabled.
