OUIGO is a low-cost train company based in France. It offers high-speed trains that run between major cities in France, as well as international destinations. The trains are divided into two types: TGV and Intercités. It's easy to take the train from Madrid to Valencia using the excellent Spanish rail system. All services between the two cities are operated by Renfe, the publicly owned national rail service, so booking is simple. There are plenty of trains from Madrid to Valencia every day, starting early in the morning at 06:45 a.m. and finishing late. The Madrid to Valencia train journey is a quick one, at between 1 hour 40 and 2 hours in duration. At weekends, Renfe run fewer trains, with a later start and earlier finish to their daily schedule, so check ahead to avoid being caught out.
The quickest trains from Madrid to Valencia all depart from Madrid's Atocha station, although you can connect to the mainline from suburban stations as well. So if you are staying in areas like Chamartin near the Bernabeu Stadium, you can easily reach Valencia. There is also a direct rail connection between Madrid Barajas Airport and Atocha, while the Metro connects the station to every corner of Madrid as well. The Metro also runs until 01:30 a.m, so you should be able to reach any later departures.
Trains from Madrid to Valencia arrive at the city's main station: Joaquin Sorolla, which is located just to the south of the city centre, close to the major attractions. Stroll into town or take the Metro from nearby Jesus station. When you get into town, Valencia is a relaxed, youthful city with world-class attractions like the City of Arts and Sciences, some ancient sights to explore and the added attraction of the sun-drenched Costa Blanca on its doorstep. It's one of Europe's rising city break destinations and you can easily reach it with trains from Madrid to Valencia.
