Direct Trains leave Paris Gare de Lyon first thing in the morning and then additionally in the early afternoon. This train passes along a scenic route and calls at Montpellier St Roche, Perpignan and Girona on a journey that takes around 6 hours and 25 minutes. Another option is to take an overnight train from Paris-Austerlitz Station to Barcelona which departs at 11:43 p.m. Passengers then switch to an AVE high-speed train for the 2.30 hour trip to Madrid. These trains depart every 30 minutes during peak periods.
