General Information about the journey from Malaga to Granada

The only direct bus route between the two cities is operated by the Spanish owned but company ALSA. They run a service which operates seven days a week with buses departing approximately every hour. Buses leave from the Estacion Autobuses on Paseo de los Tilos which is adjacent to the Maria Zambrano Train Station in Malaga and arrive in Granada at the coach station located on Carretera de Jaen. This is a few kilometres from the city centre and linked by regular local buses. Journey time between the two cities is around 2 hours. There are also four direct buses a day to Granada departing from Malaga Airport.

Trains from Malaga to Granada

Travel by train involves taking the high-speed AVE train operated by RENFE to Antequera with a journey time of around half an hour with frequent daily departures. From Antequera nine trains a day then depart for Granada with a journey time of approximately 2 hours plus waiting time for the connections.
