The Spanish city of Malaga and the city of Seville are only 2 hours 15 minutes apart by road, so there is an excellent choice of transport options for travelling between these two cities. The best options are to travel by bus or train, which reach Seville within 2 or 3 hours and offer economical prices on tickets.
Alsa runs direct buses several times per day between the cities from 9.00 am until 8 pm in the evening. Buses depart from Malaga bus station several times per day every 1.5 to 3 hours. The journey takes approximately 2 hours 45 minutes to reach the Plaza de Armas Bus Station in the old town of Seville. Ticket prices vary according to the chosen departure time.
Travellers who prefer to take the train can benefit from a scenic journey by booking a direct ticket on a Media Distancia train, which arrives in Seville within 2 hours. Passengers can board the train at Malaga Maria Zambrano Station from 6.45 until late in the evening at 21.20. The journey can take as little as 1 hour 50 minutes direct, although some departures require a change at Cordoba Central, making the entire journey time last approximately 2 hours 35 minutes. There is also an overnight train, but the journey can take up to 10 hours 15 minutes due to nearly a 9-hour wait at Cordoba Central.
Taking a flight between these two cities can also offer another transport option, but given their close proximity, flights may not necessarily offer travellers a faster or more economical route. Low-cost airlines like Vueling operate regular services from Malaga Airport, which reach Seville Airport within 4 hours, including a stopover at Barcelona.
