Trains from Lyon to Paris: Journey Details

Direct trains from Lyon to Paris depart from Lyon Part Dieu and take approximately two hours on the high speed TGV service. The first weekday train departs Lyon early morning with trains then leaving at least once per hour until mid-evening. At weekends the first train departs slightly later with services running every one to two hours until the early evening.

Taking the Train from Lyon

TGV services to Paris depart from Lyon Part-Dieu, the city's dedicated TGV terminus, located to the east of the city centre. Lyon Part-Dieu can be accessed via the Metro Line B or via tram on the T1, T3 or T4 lines. Public transport services operate from around 5:00 a.m. until midnight, although taxis are available to the station from anywhere in Lyon 24 hours a day.

Getting into Paris by Train

Direct TGV trains from Lyon arrive at Paris Gare du Lyon which is located to the southeast of the city in the 12th arrondissement. Gare du Lyon is found on Lines 1 and 14 of the Paris Metro and from the station all central areas can be reached in around ten minutes. The Paris Metro ceases operation around 1:00 a.m. and after this time taxis are available throughout the night.
