Train from Nottingham to Brighton: Journey Details

The train from Nottingham to Brighton takes around 4 hours. Trains are twice hourly with connections at either Grantham or London. The route is operated by East Midlands, Thameslink and Southern Trains. The first departure is first thing in the morning. and the last train leaves at around 9:00 p.m. Earlier and later trains involve a longer journey and reduced service operates on Sundays.

Taking the Train from Nottingham

Nottingham Station is a five-minute walk from the city centre. The city has a frequent bus service, operated by Nottingham City Buses and Trent Barton. Buses arrive at the station from the town and surrounding villages. The Nottingham Tram runs to the station from across the city and the Park and Rides at Phoenix Park and Hucknall. Taxi ranks are located outside the station.

Getting into Brighton by Train

Brighton is a traditional seaside resort with plenty to offer all ages. Palace Pier contains amusement arcades, a funfair and a classic fish and chip restaurant. The Brighton Eye is at the entrance to the pier, opposite Sea World Brighton, while the old beachside arches are home to quirky art shops and boutiques, as well as a fishing museum. In the town is the Regency domed extravaganza of the Brighton Pavilion and the cobbled streets of the famous shopping Lanes. Brighton Railway Station is just North of the city, approximately ten minutes by bus from the beach. Local trains from Brighton go along the coast while the Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company provides frequent bus routes around the town and to surrounding villages. This is supplemented in term times by the Big Lemon Bus Company. A night bus service operates at weekends. Brighton Station has taxi ranks at the entrance.
