Train is the best way to get to Malaga Airport. The C1 train runs daily from the central station Malaga Centro Alameda to the airport. The Centro Alameda station is just over half a mile (0.8 kilometers) southwest of Malaga's city centre, and travellers can walk the distance in ten to 15 minutes. It takes roughly 11 minutes and makes three stops along the way. The second best way to get to the airport is via the Linea Express coach which travels from the city centre to the airport every 25 to 30 minutes and takes 15 minutes. The coach travels at all hours of the day and best suits those with flights departing during the night or in the very early morning hours.

How far is it from Malaga city centre to Malaga Airport?

Both the train and the coach are frequent and fast. The train runs every 20 to 30 minutes. Departures begin at 6.10 a.m. and the last train departs at 20 past midnight. There is a coach every 25 to 30 minutes and the coach departures are frequent all throughout the night. Driving to the airport is also an option. Driving takes 25 to 30 minutes without traffic. It is recommended passengers leave more than the minimum 30 minutes to reach the airport, and ensure they have at least one hour to get to their check in on time.

Locals take the train to Malaga Airport, unless they have a flight departing in the very early hours of the morning. Trains avoid traffic and are the most reliable, convenient way to get to their flight. Locals take a bit of time getting from the city centre to Centro Alameda, stopping by a few attractive sights along the way. They enjoy the views of the Guadalmedina river which they cross to reach the station, and are sure to take a moment to enjoy the Estatua del Marques de Larios, a historical landmark of Malaga which features a statue surrounded by a lovely green urban park.
