Taking the Train from Paris
Trains from Paris to Caen all depart from Gare St. Lazare. The station is the second busiest in Europe and is conveniently located in Place Louis Armand in the centre of the city. It is served by both RER (line E) and Metro trains (lines 3, 12, 13, 14) and local buses such as the 27 stop nearby. Taxis can take passengers to Gare St. Lazare from any part of the city and the station is also within easy reach of Gare du Nord for those travelling by Eurostar.
Getting into Caen by Train
Caen is one of the most popular destinations in Normandy and visitors flock to the city to see its famous Cathedral which was built from local stone by William Conqueror, historic D-Day landing sites and the famous tapestry in neighbouring Bayeux. Trains from Paris to Caen arrive at the city's main station which is sometimes referred to as Gare de l'Ouest or Gare Calvados. Travellers can catch trams to the city centre from right outside the station and the station is also on many of the local Twisto bus routes.
