Trains from Worcester to London: Journey Details

There are two viable routes to London from Worcester; the first is a London Midland service between Worcester Foregate Street and Euston which involves one change (at Birmingham) and takes just under 3 hours. The second is a stopping serviced operated by First Great Western between Worcester Shrub Hill and Paddington, this train takes approximately 2.5 hours from A to B. During the daytime, trains operate up to three per hour with frequent weekend departures too. On each route, first trains are between 05.00 and 06.00. The last train at night is the Shrub Hill to Paddington service just before midnight.

Taking the Train from Worcester

Foregate Street is the more convenient of the two train stations here, situated in the centre of town. However, trains from Worcester to London take slightly longer using this route. It might be wise to consider a bus or taxi from town to Shrub Hill which is on the outskirts of town, depending on the final destination in the Capital. Local transport services are frequent, affordable and efficient.

Getting into London by Train

Both the pertinent termini are located in West Central London with very efficient bus and tube links to any main attraction in London. The galleries and theatres clustered around Leicester Square and Covent Garden are within 15 minutes from Euston on the Piccadilly Line. For business travellers, the financial district in The City is on the District or Circle lines from Paddington. In truth, once visitors are in London, any other part of the capital can be reached within an hour using the underground. Buses (slow) and taxis (expensive) operate all night in London, although trade unionists continue to thwart the planned all-night tube.
